  Campaign Lurch

Lurch seems to be cursed. The moment you think he
couldn't look worse, some contender for the champion
Village Idiot suicide belt pops out of his campaign
woodwork. Of course, chances are that they're all
brighter than him, which may explain why he's not really
saying much of anything. When he does, it's usually stuff
like "It's all a pack of lies", "Rightwingers are buying
"Unfit for Command" in bulk to pad the sales numbers",
and strange ideas like a "Department of Wellness".

Funny thing, the first association that comes into my head
when seeing "wellness" spouted by Lurch is that he should
avoid the theme like the plague, before anyone mentions
Mental Wellness. The second is Dr. Kellogg in "The Road
to Wellville" expounding on a healthy stool.

Bizarreness abounds, and the most bizarre turn yet is the
dip into criminality connected to the Kerry campaign. Now
there is the apparent forgeries used by Dan Rather to try
and smear Preident Bush with not having done his duty in
the Texas Air National Guard. Now, of course forging
military documents is a felony. To forge military documents
in order to rig the election of a president is .. what?
Treason?

Of course, there's no proof that this is on the behest of
the Kerry campaign, at least not yet. But consider this:
a short time ago, a person connected to the Kerry campaign
tried another fraud. When Ben Barnes's daughter was to
appear on the Sean Hannity show, her father's press
secretary tried to cancel the appearance claiming to
act on her behalf:

"[Hinton] called our studio saying she was a friend
of Amy's," the talk host revealed during Friday's
broadcast. "She canceled the interview on your behalf,"
he told Ms. Barnes, who appeared despite the attempted
cancellation.

So, another forgery. Or at least it would be if Ms. Hinton
had made it in writing. Anyone see a pattern emerging here?
And Lurch carrying a typewriter and a film camera to Viet
Nam, does that fit the pattern?

As expected, the blogosphere has given the fraudsters what
they deserve. Sterling work all around by Powerline, LGF
and others. Color me impressed.

Some people claiming credit seem to be afraid of a blog
association, though. This is from Free Republic, the chat
board that claims to have spotted the document fishyness
first:

Freepers should insist that the term "forum" be used
rather than "blog" whenever such sites as FR are
mentioned in the news. The latter has a crude,
unsophisticated connotation that can, and is already
being used by the left to undermine the credibility
of sites like FreeRepublic.

Yeah, well... what can I say. Anyway, freeper Bob J,
interviewed by Paula Zahn on CNN, proceeded to do just
that. I got to see the program because Bob J was so
thoughtful as to copy it, repackage it with the
Rightalk label, and make it available as announced here:

Diotima and I just got back after negotiating the
LA traffic. Being on CNN was a cool experience!
Thanks to all the FReepers on the "prep" thread,
I made copious notes but unfortunately only got
in two comments, but as Dio says, we were able to
slip in the "money shot"...heheh. For those expecting
pajamas, I was tempted to wear my Garfield slippers,
but would never do anything to make FR or the FRN
look unprofessional while representing it. I did take
my "I believe the Swifties" button but slipped it in
my pocket before the broadcast as they usually ask you
to remove items of that sort (They made me take off my
FreeRepublic.com ballcap before a CBS "Rally for America"
interview last year) prior to going on camera.

Anyway, Agitator, my fearless "RIGHTALK.com" partner
captured the segment and you can view it here.

I grabbed a couple of captures, and it does indeed
make FR and FRN look highly professional. I'd rather
not name the profession, though.

Good stuff. Practically a steal, for such a moneyshot.

So can it get much wackier? Why yes, it can:

LI man arrested in air rage case

It appears that the fellow, a Kerry supporter, was
enraged by the Bush supporter sitting next to him -
creating an emergency and getting himself arrested.

Maybe Kerryites should, by default, be in the "no-fly"
cathegory?
